Ok, so this is interesting. It seems that Mike Dillard is suing James Stein of Articles Productions for “manipulative search engine optimization techniques” and had cost him $150,000 in potential revenue. Here is a snippet from the affidavit:
“Stein quickly followed-up his discussion by identifying and targeting certain search-engine keywords to divert web traffic to his site, including:- “elevation group, the elevation, us elevation, best elevation, elevation media, elevation marketing” – to opportunistically palm off on my success…”
“By late on the night of December 14, 2010, Stein was expanding…by manipulating the ability of existing and prospective online customers to reach The Elevation Group website through a Google search by manipulative “search engine optimization” techniques…”
It will be interesting to see the result of the lawsuit. After all, it seems that the only thing that James Stein has been guilty of is extremely effective article marketing although I suspect there is a bit more to the lawsuit than that.
Having said that, Stein hasn’t exactly been respectful of Dillard. I first knew of James Stein through Better Networker (created by Mike Dillard), and even back then it seemed that Stein had a vendetta against Dillard. He appeared to me, for want of a better word, as a bit of a troll. So I’m not exactly surprised that it has come to this. If you are constantly critical and negative towards someone, perhaps unjustly (I’ve never had a problem with any Dillard product) it’s probably going to turn ugly at some point.
I also found it funny that James Stein has already got content out there with his own slant on the story which you can check out here. Notice how he uses language like “he lacks the ability to outrank me” and “which Articles Productions dominates” XD
What do you think? Does Mike Dillard have a legitimate case? Is James Stein just a good guy bringing the truth?

I was a member of better networker at the time that James Stein began his tirade on Mike Dillard and other forum members. I was also a member of the article forum run by James and saw all of his rants to that community. It was a blatant, openly public mission of James' to ruin Dillard for banning James from the better networker, which was forum due to the fact James was constantly flaming, insulting, and threatening any and all forum members that disagreed with or had a counter opinion to him. He openly bragged that he would destroy Dillard's business via, but not limited to seo methods for the sole purpose of slandering Mike as well as posting misleading information to current or potential Dillard customers with the intent to sell them his products and services. He was also guilty of blatant copyright infringement by blatantly creating content, domain names and services that were nothing more than a slight spin on Dillard's trademarked names. For example, The Association of Better Networkers is a paid membership offered in Dillard's product line. James attempted to mislead consumers by promoting the Better Networkers Association but was in fact using the trademark "Association of Better Networkers" to promote it. You can find videos on youtube to prove this fact. *youtube*com/user/betternetworkers* When confronted I watched him then turn his sites on people like Richard Bravo and Fernando Ceballos, who are both incredible leaders in that community. I believe Richard was even the target of an extended slander campaign but I haven't heard any details if another lawsuit is pending. James got what he deserved. He is an arrogant braggart who thought he could beat the laws just because he said so. He didn't even show up for his appearance and was stupid enough to openly brag that he had no intention of appearing and would still win because he was righteous. You reap what you sow - PERIOD.
