4 Ways To Generate Leads Offline

by Damien Willis on October 16, 2009

If you’ve been searching for ways to generate leads through the internet, it would easy to think that generating leads
offline is dead. All the articles on lead generation seem to only mention online lead generation methods. Now, of course I
think that the internet has changed things a lot, and I think that it is a medium that you definitely need to use. But you
can still generate leads offline effectively. Here are 4 ways to generate leads offline.
Voice Broadcasting
Voice Broadcasting can be very powerful and can save you a lot of time. What’s really good about using Voice Broadcasting is
that only the opportunity buyers, not opportunity seekers are going to respond, so you don’t waste time on tire kickers.
Let’s say you have 5000 leads that you got from a lead company. You put those leads into the voice broadcasting system. You
record a 30 second message about your business opportunity or whatever it is that you want to market. Out of 5000 people,
there are going to be a lot that pay attention to your message and want to find out more. I would rather speak to 40 or 50
genuinely interested prospects than have to go through hundreds or thousands of tire kickers.
Drop Cards
This is something that I’m sure everyone’s tried or has at least heard of. Drop Cards can be very effective if used
creatively. The best drop card to use is the $100 bill drop card. If you saw something that looked a $100 bill on the ground,
would you pick it up? Of course you would. Some good places to put your drop cards are: Newspaper stands, in self
improvement/entrepreneur related books/magazines at bookstores, real estate/auto trader classified stands, or even drop a few
here and there when your at a shopping centre.
Traditional Press
Traditional press media (newspapers, magazines), while not as popular as it used to be thanks to the internet, is still a big
player in the world of advertising. I know of people who build their business by placing ads in newspapers or magazines and
that’s all they do for advertising. So if they can build a business with that one strategy, then traditional press can
definitely benefit your lead generation. Of course, it is only going to be as effective as the ad you place. So make sure
you’ve got a good ad with a catchy headline to catch their attention.
Prospecting While You’re Out
I don’t know about you, but I don’t particularly like going out specifically to prospect. It’s like you’re forcing yourself
to do it which can be uncomfortable. But, if you have to go out for something, then why wouldn’t you make the most of your
time and do some prospecting while you’re out. For example, if you’re at a restaurant or staying at a hotel, why not leave
them a note or drop card along with a tip? Chances are they don’t like being a house cleaner or waiter and may be open to
making money in other ways. There are many ways you can prospect while you’re out, but make sure you don’t force it upon
them, make it seem natural.
